As an economist and lawyer, Luis Martín began his professional career in 1980, in the industrial company Maquiceram where he was until 1987. That same year he joined BLR Consultores, a company specialized in M&A, viability and restructuring plans. In 1989 he created CMC, his own company specializing in restructuring, M&A and process and management systems consulting. In 2003 he joined EY as director of the restructuring area, and later became partner, advisor and director of the same area at Roca Juyent where he worked from 2005 to 2010. From May 2010 to 2013 he was a partner in the restructuring area of DLA Piper.

He currently has his own law firm, Abencys Restructuraciones, which he founded together with Javier Díaz-Gálvez. From there they work as insolvency practitioner advising the debtor and creditors in some of the most relevant insolvency proceedings in Spain such as Fagor, Pescanova, Martinsa-Fadesa, Ploder, Nozar, Afinsa, Alvan, Edisan, Marco Aldany and others.

He is a member for international affairs and former president of Spanish Association of Insolvency Practitioner ASPAC, founded in September 2014, and a member of the board of directors of the European Association of Insolvency Practitioners as treasurer. He is also a member of Insol, TMA (Turnaround Management Association) and ERS (European Restructuring Solutions). He acts as an independent director, and as secretary of the board of directors in several companies, such as Sotoconce, Cador, Pescanova.

In addition, he has taken several post-graduate courses related to his professional career development in prestigious institutions such as IE, IESE, Harvard University, Harvard Business School or Cambridge University.
