This Power Hour will focus on the German Automotive industry, including guest speakers Dr. Hendrik Hauke, Counsel, Latham & Watkins and Daniel Steiner, Turnaround & Restructuring, Automotive Supplier Expert with PwC.

As a restructuring lawyer at Latham & Watkins, Dr. Hendrik Hauke advises German and international clients in a variety of cross-border distressed situations, including complex restructurings and acquisitions of distressed companies. This, also with a main focus on the restructuring of clients in the automotive sector (e.g. Benteler Group, LEONI, WKW, IFA Holding GmbH).

Daniel Steiner, as consultant at PwC, creates and protects value by Turnaround and Corporate Restructuring projects with a strong expertise in automotive and industrial products. His international experience covers corporates and medium size businesses.

Alongside a Q&A session, there will be opportunity to join small breakout rooms to explore the topic further and connect with fellow NextGen professionals.

Daniel Steiner is an experienced Turnaround & Restructuring expert with a focus on the automotive sector, working with PwC in Munich. With his extensive knowledge and expertise, he specializes in creating and protecting value through corporate restructuring projects, including turnaround concepts and implementation from top floor to shop floor, including Independent Business Reviews. At PwC, Daniel leads Turnaround and Corporate Restructurings projects in their BRS (Business Recovery Service) practice. Before joining PwC, Daniel was with Porsche Consulting and the Bosch Group. Daniel holds MBAs and an Engineering degree.



Counsel, Latham & Watkins LLP

Hendrik advises German and international clients in a variety of cross-border distressed situations, including complex restructurings and acquisitions of distressed companies, as well as acquisition financing transactions. Hendrik delivers pragmatic and creative counsel to clients involved on all sides of restructurings and acquisition financings, including creditors, investors, companies, company management, shareholders, and insolvency administrators. Drawing on his significant banking finance knowledge, he regularly navigates clients’ largest and most significant restructuring matters, both in and out of court. He offers particular experience advising on large-scale restructurings in the automotive, retail, and manufacturing industries. Hendrik’s practice includes:

  • Financial restructurings, including debt-equity swaps, share pledge enforcements, and insolvency plan proceedings
  • Operational corporate restructurings
  • Acquisitions of distressed companies, restructurings, rescue financings, and refinancing transactions
