
Oana Petrescu
Oana joined Blue Air as Interim CFO in January 2018 and was appointed CEO on April 1st, 2019. With 30 years of experience in finance, IT and business restructuring, Oana has held senior roles such as Partner in charge for Consulting Practice at Deloitte Consulting Romania, VP Retail & Operations at BCR - Erste Group, Partner for Risk Advisory Practice at EY and Audit Partner at Arthur Andersen. Oana holds a PhD from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, a DESS from Toulouse University and is a Doctor in Economics. Her areas of expertise are Growth strategies, Operational efficiency, Risk management and Corporate governance.
Oana was a speaker in the European Parliament in the Transport and Tourism Committee at “The future of low-cost air travel in Europe” Hearing – Final program Brussels, on December 3, 2019. She also took part in the IATA “Wings of Change” Conference, organized by Lufthansa, a special opportunity to hear firsthand the perspective of aviation’s most prominent leaders, as every speaker offered an inside view of the industry, what it takes to make a successful airline, and shared their challenges and concerns for the future development of the industry and respective companies.
Oana’s mission now, more than ever, is to steer Blue Air towards a sustainable future in the context of the new age of travel that the aviation is facing, addressing the challenges raised by the unprecedented crisis caused by the 2020 pandemic and reshaping the LCC model to support the current set of priorities of both passengers and industry partners. Oana is committed to a sustainable development of Blue Air and aviation, one that takes into account operational efficiency, the new reality of travel profiles and brand loyalty, the present customer experience expectations and the new European route and network dynamics.
