Michiel Bindels
Michiel Bindels is a senior banking and restructuring lawyer with an insolvency background. Michiel focusses on financial restructurings, mostly the more complex ones.
Michiel is trained at the restructuring department of Simmons & Simmons, and subsequently made a move to Linklaters’ finance and restructuring team. After that he switched to Rabobank as a senior account manager in the bank’s restructuring department, focussing on real estate and construction. At Rabobank he was responsible for the recovery of some of the bank’s largest real estate financings after the previous crisis. Michiel joined Windt Le Grand Leeuwenburgh since early 2017, where he works for US and UK firms in international referral work, and for financial institutions, some distressed investors, and on the debtor’s side in work outs and domestic turnaround situations.
Guides that chart the Dutch legal market such as IFLR, Legal 500 and Chambers rank Windt Le Grand Leeuwenburgh and its partners as leading in the field of restructuring and insolvency in the Netherlands. In that context, clients praise Michiel for his ‘excellent legal skills’ and for being a ‘good and efficient negotiator’.
