Ioan Chiper

Ioan Chiper is a New York and Romanian qualified attorney with over 20 years of professionalFinancial Restructuring and Insolvency experience, entailing legal work in both the Government and private sector in Romania, and in the US. He combines a significant involvement in transactional work, focusing on structuring, drafting and negotiating deal documents, with an extensive first-hand experience in legislative and regulatory reform in Romania, as a developing market. He regularly advised banks and other financial institutions, as well as business organisations (including listed companies), on complex finance transactions, financial restructuring and insolvency arrangements, and select dispute resolution cases. In 2007 he graduated as a Fulbright Fellow from Fordham University School of Law’s LL.M in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law in New York, having previously obtained an LL.B. in 1997 from the Bucharest University School of Law. Ioan is admitted to practice law in Romania and New York. He is a founding member and former Board member of the Romanian chapter of Turnaround Management Association, and a member of Insol Europe and Insol International. He is often invited to speak on legal and legislative matters at various public events.
