The Economic & Geopolitical Outlook for Europe

How economies will deal with the post-Covid debt overhang, impact on global trade due to highlighted weaknesses of key western economies on supply chains and China.

We are going through a confluent of crises as well as inflationary pressures coming from the demand-supply imbalance. Is it becoming the new normal? Challenges of the re-emergence of inflation, increasing interest rates, western economies workforce demographics, increased political instability and increasing poverty of many working populations.

Is the world still becoming increasingly connected, or are countries becoming more protectionist, and how much longer can governments keep propping up state economies, corporates that are too big to fail and being able to kick the can down the road?

Pause for a moment and think about your own leadership style.  Panel of Next Generation experts from across Europe will discuss the key competencies of a credible leader who is also a rainmaker.

It is time to rethink the current leadership models in the post-Covid era.  What skills are required from a good leader who becomes an inspiration for the new generation?

Would you follow a leader who is kind, respects others and is able to unleash the hidden talents of his or her team, or someone who is reserved, distant from the team and unapproachable because of his or her seniority (the old generation leader)?

What do we need to do to become the leaders of the future who are well connected in their industry, known for being experts in their field, respected and liked by their network of colleagues, clients and friends?

Our panelists will discuss this and also will explore cultural differences in leadership styles in Germany, France, Spain and Italy.

Fuelled by global crises, Europe will see a growing number of companies in distress in the very near future. Not only will this mark the end of an era with few corporate failures, but also the end of ‘easy money’, ‘extend and pretend’ or refinancing ‘recipes’ seen as common restructuring tools since the Great Financial Crisis.
The ability for real business restructuring on an operational and strategic level – including re-inventing the business model in order to adapt to the digital age – will again become the benchmark for real turnaround professionals.
Be sure you are equipped with the complete toolkit for this next chapter in turnaround.

In order to give potential turnaround professionals an idea how EACTP’s education programme will help to achieve this goal, our CTPs will share their personal stories and explain how EACTP’s toolbox helped them to turn around companies in distress.
