Mr Nastase is actively involved in complex turnaround and advisory mandates, corporate finance and M&A projects. He was also involved on the buyer’s side on behalf of several international investment funds that participated in SPL&NPL sales initiated by some of the top 10 Romanian banks. 

At Concilium Consulting he built a team of seasoned professionals with extensive consultancy and banking experience. Under his leadership, the firm developed an impressive portfolio of clients and was hired as consultant in complex restructuring projects (12 industries, groups of companies with sales ranging between EUR 10m and EUR 160m, exposures of more than EUR 670m). 

Prior to Concilium, Mr Nastase held various management positions in Banca Comerciala Romana (leading Romanian bank), most recently as Head of Regional Corporate Recovery. In this capacity he managed a multidisciplinary team of more than 40 people and a loan portfolio of EUR 2,400m. He played an active role in the process of implementing the new workout division and in running some important NPL portfolio sales by the bank. 

Before holding this function, he was the Special Project Advisor to the Group Chief Risk Officer of BCR, focusing on pension funds, leasing and workout. During that tenure he also served as board member to a Credit Guarantee Fund and as Chief Risk Officer to the debt collection subsidiary of BCR. 

Having a legal background, Mr Nastase started his career in BCR in the Legal Division, gradually climbing the corporate ladder to the Executive Director position. As Co-Head of the division, he coordinated the bank’s legal function. Some of his major challenges and achievements in this field included the setup of corporate governance at the Group level, carve-outs and projects of optimization, complex transfers of business (e.g. real estate, IT, cash processing). He coordinated the legal team that assisted the transfer of business from the Anglo-Romanian Bank to BCR. 

Before BCR, Mr Nastase was the Legal Director of Ipsos Interactive Services (a top 3 international on-line market research company). During his time at IIS he was involved in complex business development projects, as well as in the process of integrating the firm’s North American and European divisions. 

Mr Nastase is the President of the Romanian Chapter of Turnaround Management Association. He also serves as an independent board member to the listed company TMK Artrom, one of the largest metal producers in the SEE region. 

Mr Nastase holds a university degree from the Law Faculty and an Executive MBA from Vienna University. He is fluent in English and has good understanding of German and French.
