Carlos works as a court-appointed insolvency administrator as well as CEO/CRO as well as liquidator and joint representative in connection with larger companies. Carlos (Charles) Mack-Castelletti is a British-German lawyer and certified Turnaround & Insolvency practitioner with more than 25 years’ experience in complex cross-border restructurings, corporate recovery and governance. He has acted as Joint Representative, Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO), Insolvency Administrator and Managing Director for numerous European and international corporations, combining legal and financial restructuring expertise with hands-on executive management.

He is currently an of counsel lawyer with BakerTilly Germany, partner with Studio Trabucchi, Padova and a senior consultant with Bronzewood Capital as well as with BuchlerPhilipps in London.

He currently serves as Managing Director EMEA (excluding UK) of We-Work Inc., where he oversaw the successful conclusion of the company’s Chapter 11 reorganisation in the US, ensuring the continuity of its European operations and stakeholder stability. He was until last year Board Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of CORESTATE Capital Holding S.A., a Luxembourg-based real estate investment manager listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, as well as Board Member and Chairman of the Audit Commitee of Cadogan Energy Solutions PLC, a London-listed energy group.

Previously, Carlos (or Charles, the correct name on his British documents including passport) was CRO and Managing Director of the Deutsche Real Estate Fund Group (Luxembourg), a group of real estate investment and asset-management companies, where he led a comprehensive financial turnaround and operational consolidation. He served as CRO and Managing Director of the Franco Colaiacovo Gold Group (related to the third largest Italian Cement producer COLACEM) in Gubbio, Italy, directing its restructuring and business recovery process.

In additon, he acted as Managing Director for CWT (Carlson Wagonlit Travel) Frankfurt and DACH en es within the group’s US Chapter 11 restructuring proceedings, steering their European reorganistion and compliance framework. He has further been appointed Joint Representive of Metallcorp S.A. (Luxembourg), contributing to cross-jurisdictional creditor representation and asset recovery efforts.

Beyond his executive mandates, Charles remains a prominent figure in the European restructuring community. He is a former President of INSOL Europe, and currently serves as Education Chair at TMA Europe (Turnaround Management Association), promoting professional excellence and best practice across the restructuring and insolvency professions.

He holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy, a PhD in Law and an Honorary Professorship – and continues to lecture and publish.
