TMA Europe will be holding its sixth East European Event in Zagreb, Croatia on 26th February.
Managing Director, AlixPartners
Alastair guides companies through complex financial restructurings based on his three decades of experience in assisting financially stressed businesses to preserve value through a combination of dialogue with stakeholders, contingency planning, and, ultimately, insolvency processes, many of them with substantial and innovative cross-border elements. Alastair specializes in cross-border advisory and formal insolvency appointments. A licensed insolvency practitioner and Certified Management Consultant, Alastair is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a council member of the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals Europe. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in mining and petroleum engineering from Strathclyde University.
Dr Lukas Fecker
Founder and CEO, Innovation Brain and VP International, TMA Global
Dr Lukas Fecker specialises in Turnaround Management for global Financial Services and commodities clients with an emphasis on Restructuring and M&A. He has held several CRO, CEO and board positions in restructuring situations; responsible for strategy, delivery and investor reporting. His advisory career has spanned Accenture, Alvarez & Marsal and KPMG as a Partner in their UK Transactions and Restructuring practice, before leaving to start his own firm.
Among his achievements is the appointment by the European Commission to monitor the restructuring of the largest bank in a member country.
Lukas is a published author with a strong standing in the Restructuring and Recovery industry and is currently the Vice President International Relations, TMA Global.
Enrica Maria Ghia
Partner, Studio Ghia Legale, and President, TMA Europe
Enrica graduated magna cum laude in Law at Rome University La Sapienza in 1993, discussing a thesis on Bankruptcy Law. She completed her education with a LLM in EU Law on June 1995 at the College of Europe. Admitted to the Milan Bar since 1998 she is attorney and managing partner at Studio Legale Ghia. Expert in bankruptcy law, business law and company law with a specific competence in turnaround and insolvency proceedings. Her activity in those fields is both judicial and out of court. Since June 2015, Founding Member of the International Insolvency Institute. Since July 2015, Fellow at European Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals (EACTP). Since 2017, Founding Partner of JurisNet, a LegalTech law firm with 130 lawyers all over Italy.
Partner, Studio Trabucchi
Carlos works as a court-appointed liquidator and trustee, most recently in connection with the restructuring of the Kelch&Links group in Schorndorf near Stuttgart (turnover of EUR 100 million) and TECHNOSAN Umwelt GmbH (turnover EUR 25 million) near Munich. He was the leading partner in the financial restructuring through a Scheme of Arrangement at the High Court in London of PRIMACOM Group (restructuring of more than EUR 600 million debt). He acted as joint representative of the Bondholders (representing more than EUR 500 million) of QCells SE (a German listed company) and later as member of the creditors’ committee. He was involved in the restructuring of SolarWorld AG, also a German quoted company, acting as managing director of one of the three major shareholders. He is also trustee in the Cayman Islands in the restructuring/insolvency of Pfleiderer AG. The last three cases belong to the largest in Germany in the last two years. Currently, he has been the leading managing CRO in the restructured German PAPERLINX Group.
Carlos was admitted to the Bavarian Bar in 1990. Since 2003 he is also an avvocato belonging to the Paduan Bar in Italy. He received his Ph.D. from University of Munich, rated the best law school in Germany, in 1993. He attended Templeton College (Oxford University) in 1995 taking classes in marketing and finance (Diploma). Carlos is admitted to practice in Italy and Germany. He became certified in Germany as a Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioner in 2003.
He is an active member in a number of professional associates including Insol Europe (Past President and Honorary Member for Life), Insol International, International Insolvency Institute, VID (Verband Insolvenzerwalter Deutschland, and ISIR (Istituto Italiano Studi Internazionali di Insolvenza e Risanamento, where he is the actual President).
Finally, last year he became a Honorary Professor at the Corvinus University in Budapest.
Mirna Marovic, MBA
President, TMA Croatia and Director, VentureXchange Ltd
Ms. Marovic a highly skilled Economics, Finance, Investments & European Integration Specialist with more than 20 years’ experience in the Economics and Finance Industry. Her main area of expertise is in direct investment issues and incentives for Croatia and South East Europe. Considerable experience has been gained in understanding and implementing the Croatian Economic Policies and the EU integration issues having been an Assistant Minister in the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration during the time of Croatia’s integration into the European Union. Prior to her return to Croatia in 2004, she was based in London and held corporate and structured finance positions at major investment banks including Merrill Lynch, BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole Indosuez. As an effective professional, she has also successfully led a company for the past 7 years, VentureXchange Ltd., as its Director/CEO. In this company she works in close conjunction with international financing institutions and spearheads researches made for clients that are looking for market development or investment opportunities in South East Europe. For many years she has successfully combined the high-profile consultancy assignments and academia, working as a Lecturer at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management.
She has orchestrated the establishment of Turnaround Management Association Croatia (TMA Croatia) and the Croatian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (CVCA). Ms. Marovic was also in charge of spearheading TMA Croatia's first project which was the publication of this book, Challenges of the New Insolvency Act – Closing Gaps or Opening Loopholes? as the volume's editor and lead author.
She holds an MBA from INSEAD, an undergraduate degree in Economics (BSc Econ) from the London School of Economics and has completed Investment Management and Corporate Finance programmes at the London Business School. She is currently pursuing the PhD programme in financial management at the University of Ljubljana's Faculty of Economics (topic: Venture Capital and Private Equity, degree expected in 2019).
She is a dynamic communicator, fluent in 6 European languages, with strong presentation skills acquired through regular participation in many international conferences.
She is always interested to hear about new and challenging opportunities, with a keen interest in the financial consulting, investment advisory, corporate finance, privatization and restructuring advisory.
Managing Director, Central & Eastern Europe, BM&T
Catalin has over 15 years’ experience in finance, treasury and restructuring in international business with an emphasis on Eastern Europe. Sector experience is automotive supply, oil and gas and the business to business sector. He has worked in energy and energy efficiency industries in the Netherlands, Romania and Hungary. He has been CFO of a large European subsidiary of a US automotive Tier 1 supplier.
He has a focus on NPL portfolio workout and divestment in CEE countries and enterprise risk management and value generation in distressed and underperforming businesses. He is a graduate in finance from the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, a Director of TMA Romania and is fluent in Romanian and English, business fluent in German.
Dr Wolfram Prusko
Partner, Kirkland & Ellis
Dr Wolfram Prusko is a restructuring partner in the Munich office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP. His practice is focused on the representation of investors, debtors and creditors with respect to cross-border acquisitions, restructurings — particularly financial and bond restructurings — and insolvency proceedings. Wolfram has also extensive experience in international bank restructuring.
